Solitude
Solitude is the space in between love. It is not lack of love, it is the complement of love. It is a period of stillness that follows the intensity of love. In periods of solitude, we learn to accept, to forgive, to try again and to move on. Solitude is the shaper of character, the catalyst for art’s greatest creations, the longing for becoming better human beings. Accepting solitude is the path towards true peace and the strength within that you never knew you had. As love provides the heights of spirits, so does solitude prove the depth of human soul. The distance between is the extent where true life is able to flow.
Solitude
set adrift
from busy shores
floating aimlessly
alone
into the deep
of the human soul
reaching deeper
for my foundation
in vulnerability
I find my purity
I weep tears of gold
naked I hide
inside my skin
noticing not
the beauty revealed
that is for all to see
as I emerge from the shadows
