The Passage of Flight
The sands of time
keep shifting
what was familiar
is made new again
the path obscured
I don't know
where I am going
and place my trust
in my senses
reaching deep within
listen, feel, taste
to find space
without losing myself
when I make the first step
I will have defined
my path
When you realise that things are no longer the same, that whatever was is either no longer valid or is lost, it is a struggle to let go of old thoughts, old dogmas, old patterns.
On one hand it is painful to realise that the feeling of security is gone and a sense of vulnerability and loss has taken its place. On the other hand, this new reality creates a new alertness, an awareness, a new potential.
Questions rise that aim to fill the void. What do I do next? Where do I go? What is my path? The feeling of being alive becomes strongest when you realise that you have no answers. In fact, you never had any answers, you were dulled into thinking that you knew your path, when this was a combination of familiarity and a false sense of security that you were immune against change.
The answers you seek are of a different kind. Instead of creating new false securities with fake plans, you reach deeply within, and you seek and find the internal trust that your path is yours. It only needs your first step to materialise.
