Tjen Art vernissage at a charity event at Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) was a great success. Two new Tjen Art produced works were offered for auction in support of Singapore shelter children and with proceeds contributing to Jujie’s Happy Kitchen Projects at Gladiolus Place. The first artwork “Singapore Youth Expressions" is the result of an art collaboration with Jujie’s children from Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home.
The painting is a work in acrylic on canvas, 40″ (101.6cm) width by 30″ (76.2cm) height. It has been created by Jujie’s shelter children initially painting ‘all things Singapore’ as small individual studies. After a composition outline of these was made on the big canvas, the children started painting it (3 at each time) together in a good effort of collaboration and appreciating each other’s work. In the final touchup phase, excess paint was removed, corrections made and the final outcome is as illustrated here. The whole painting process was as inspiring as the outcome! This work has been offered for auction on www.fund-well.com, with 1 January 2019 as bid closing date.
Inspired by the above collaboration, a second art work was created and a limited edition print (01 / 10) offered as a second charity auction piece, also on www.fund-well.com. The result “Singapore Bright Impressions” measures 76.5cm in width and 59.5cm in height (size as framed). See Vernissage announcement below for an image of the work.
