Make time
kill time
every time
in time
out of time
do you have time
or does time have you

How do you see time? As a utility, a convenience, an opportunity, or as a pressure of life, even a threat to your existence?

How we engage with our concept of time determines how we will live our lives.

What we decide to do with our time is the only truly relevant choice in exercising our freedom to live.

Time is the only scarcity in our lives that truly matters. I assume that essentials such as food, water, safety, a place to stay are fulfilled. Otherwise we will occupy our time in fulfilling those basic needs. However, even then (or perhaps particularly then) we are most conscious of how relevant a single day is, how precious and important each moment to live. Most of us live in the bliss that our basic needs are fulfilled. Instead of making conscious choices of what to do with our day, we get dragged into endless routine (emails, meetings, chores, social media, ... ) and we feel that we are being lived. Our time is no longer our most precious gift, but a fiend that tries to control us, pressure us, make us insecure, anxious, tense, and even makes us ill through burn-out and hypertension.

The way you perceive time determines the way you live. You own your time, it is your most basic gift of being alive. Don’t act as a slave of time and give up this freedom. Yes, we all have responsibilities. Our ability to fulfil these is because of the gift of time.
